Necronomicon

Brass and Copper brooch, brass rivets. Rubi-zoisite cabochon bezel setting. Acid-etched. (The image on the cover was taken from a leftover-pile, and the Cthulu image was photocopied from my book- I did not draw them myself). The pages were made using a Durston rolling mill. It opens by the use of a tube rivet within a tube, so that it can swivel open to reveal the image inside. To solve the problem of the cover swiveling past where it should, I made part of the spine decoration come forth a little to stop it. 

Edit: For this project, I was instructed to make a brooch, but I wanted it to function as a pendant as well, so I also soldered on a bale. After it was graded, I sawed off the pin back, so now I can wear it as a pendant and it's not too heavy.
